“There are a thousand thoughts lying within a man that he does not know till he takes up a pen to write.” – Williams Makepeace Thackeray.
An important attribute of most great people is their love for writing! Yes, great people befriend their pens. They may not necessarily be authors, but they write!
So many great brands today dropped into people's heart as mere thoughts. Only that the thinkers were fast and wise enough to write the thoughts (ideas) down, fine-tuned them and began taking actions on them.
Here are two reasons why you should not joke with your pen this year:
1) THE INCREASE YOU PRAYED FOR IS COMING IN SEED FORM OF AN IDEA
If you made powerful declaration into the new year, wrote growth goals, made resolutions or prayed for an enlarged coast, watch out, your answers will begin to drop in form of ideas. Now, what you do when the ideas come to you is what matters. Some fantasize with it until it fizzles away, some discard it due to unbelief, some unconsciously give it away prematurely through excessive talking, while some capture and nurture it until fruitfulness.
2) THE IDEA YOU CAPTURE IS THE ONE YOU NURTURE.
We all have great ideas lurking in our subconscious mind. It takes a pen to lift those ideas from our subconscious minds into reality. Once captured, it begins to grow and expand every time you meditate on it.
There is a flow of creativity that accompany putting your thoughts/ Ideas on paper. It opens up, it becomes clearer. All of a sudden it begins to take on flesh unlike the abstract form in your mind. You find words to communicate it and actionable steps begin to emerge.
As simple as this is, it could be instrumental to your breakthrough this year. If you cultivate the habit of writing down the ideas running through your mind, especially in your time of meditation, you will soon see yourself taking actions that will lead you into unfathomable results.
Remember, success begins with an idea. Be careful not to let inspired ideas slip off your mind without penning them down.
Cultivate the habit of making use of your pen this year. As you pray, meditate, read, and engage in meaningful conversations, God will be releasing great ideas, solutions, information into your heart. Catching them with your pen is up to you.
You might not need all what you wrote but there might just be that one idea you have written that will liberate you.
An old Chinese proverb says that “the faintest pen is more powerful than the strongest memory."
If you want to be taken seriously this year, don’t joke with your pen!
